Japans militair paspoort uit WO 1 op naam van de soldaat Kanai. Geboren op 18 Augustus Meiji 18 (1882) in Saidama. Nam vrijwillig dienst 12 September Meiji 39 (1906) als soldaat eerste klas bij de 7de infanterie brigade en werd later korporaal. Later werd hij weer gedegradeerd tot soldaat eerste klas.
Met het paspoort komt een zeldzaam item een Hokobukuro. Dit was een zak waarin alle militaire papieren en documenten in werden bewaard. Deze draagt zoals is te zien links de naam van de soldaat Kanai. Op de voorzijde zijn 3 tekens te zien die samen het woord Hokobukuro vormen. Daarboven staat een afbeelding van de eenheid waar de desbetreffende militair diende, in dit geval Keizerlijke reserve eenheid. De rest van de tekst op de zak staat voor de items die er in hebben gezeten zoals zijn medailles en oorkondes.
In Nederland ben ik het nog niet tegengekomen. Deze komen rechtstreeks uit Japan.

He volunteerd on the 12th of September Meiji 39 (1906) asl a privat first class in the 7th infantry brigade en was promoted to corporal. Later on he was degraded back to privat first class.
Together with the passport comes a very rare item, a Hokobukuro. This was a bag in which the soldier kept al his military papers and documents.. On the side left you can see the name from the soldier Kanai. On the front of the bag are three characters which together form the word : Hokobukuro. Above these characters is a picture of the unit in which the soldier served. In this case the Empirial reserve unit. The rest of the characters stand for the items that once were in it like papers and documents.
In the Netherlands I've never seen an item like this before. These two come straight from Japan.
